Britto Tours America DDR sponsored a tour of eleven of our shopping centers with the museum-quality artwork of Romero Britto. This event helped bring world-renowned art out of museums and directly to the people and communities we serve.
Romero Britto is one of the leading pop artists of our time. As the youngest and most successful pop artist of his generation, Britto has managed to create contemporary masterpieces that evoke a spirit of hope and convey a sense of warmth.
As a talented and creative child growing up in Brazil, Romero Britto painted images on any medium he could find, including scraps of cardboard and newspaper. His inner passion and drive to excel served as a powerful asset for a young man with a longing to nurture his creative side and experience all that life has to offer. His innate love for learning inspired Britto to channel his focus and commitment to excellence into his artwork. This dedication is what has helped Britto become an international success over the past 18 years.
Twelve of Britto’s sculptures visited eleven DDR shopping centers nationwide, helping to introduce his work to whole new audiences.

Sing 2011! Sing! is a national vocal talent competition designed to shine the spotlight on soloists, duos, choirs, choruses, gospel singers, glee clubs and vocal groups.
Performers upload an original audio performance of a song from the approved contest Song List. Each of the 12 participating shopping centers in the United States and Puerto Rico will select 10 semifinalists by online popular vote as well as two alternates identified by the shopping center. These semifinalists will perform live at their selected shopping center. Each pool of 12 will be narrowed to three groups by a panel of local judges and audience text voting, followed by another round of online voting to identify 11 national finalists – one finalist representing each center in the continental United States and one finalist representing Puerto Rico.
The grand prize winner will receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in a singing, songwriting and recording session with two-time Emmy® award-winner Kevin Briody, as well as $5,000 DDR MasterCard gift cards and a $20,000 donation to the charity of their choice. The solo winner will also participate in a singing, songwriting and recording session with Kevin Briody, and will receive $2,500 DDR MasterCard gift cards and a $5,000 donation to the charity of their choice.
